Also covered history I knew very little of. Henry VII and Elizabeth's children all had a real lustiness, (Arthur died too young to see if he would have too), something of a surprise.Judyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09566395146321751551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168485041669110812.post-56155938759842215452009-05-17T12:05:00.000-07:002009-05-17T12:05:00.000-07:00Oh yes Michele, I know what you mean about |To Hol...Oh yes Michele, I know what you mean about |To Hold the Crown- definitely better;) Why don't you join us in June for My Enemy the Queen? Collecting them has become like a big ol' scavenger hunt to me, LOL.

I read To Hold the Crown recently because it was a reprint being pushed out there and was pleasantly surprised. I know it's not a big favorite amongst Plaidy fans, but I thought she wrote about Henry and Elizabeth sooooo much better than another recent author who covered the same subjects.

I wasn't as thrilled with The Queen's Secret, but only because Owen and Katherine seemed so mealy-mouthed and spineless. But who knows...maybe they were?

I want to continue on with The Thistle and the Rose next and I also picked up her book on Victoria.Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04873109350235219509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168485041669110812.post-24425344885563320382009-05-16T17:14:00.000-07:002009-05-16T17:14:00.000-07:00I'm not surprised Arleigh, you often mention this ...I'm not surprised Arleigh, you often mention this character:)Lucy https://www.blogger.com/profile/13600064401395449845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168485041669110812.post-65350321795574931142009-05-16T15:49:00.000-07:002009-05-16T15:49:00.000-07:00My favorite Plaidy character is Charles II in The ...My favorite Plaidy character is Charles II in The Wandering Prince, Health Unto His Majesty and Here Lies Our Sovereign Lord. She is my favourite thus far. Their marriage began with conflict but became very strong and I felt one of the greatest love stories. Her love for her husband and her family surpassed anything else. A great book!zetorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05912433866457968555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168485041669110812.post-38922502636199902732009-05-15T16:46:00.000-07:002009-05-15T16:46:00.000-07:00I need to get a hold of Queen of This Realm: Eliza...I need to get a hold of Queen of This Realm: Elizabeth I. That's the first book I read and I loved it-but I had borrowed it from the Florida library when I was vacationing there. I don't actually have a copy. I'd re-read it in a flash.

As for a favourite character, I really liked Sophia Dorothea and her integrity snd morals (she held out as long as possible-let's face it)...there are other characters I loved though.Lucy https://www.blogger.com/profile/13600064401395449845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168485041669110812.post-14259412457824355242009-05-15T15:46:00.000-07:002009-05-15T15:46:00.000-07:00Written under Holt.. my favorite is Lettice Knolly...Written under Holt.. my favorite is Lettice Knolly of MY ENEMY THE QUEEN.
