NOt the usual historical posts you're used to...
I just wanted to let our readers know that our Plaidy site will be temporartily suspended due to a devastating circumstance.
Arleigh's home has been seriously affected by the horrendous floods in Georgia. Her family has been evacuated from the place. So, in terms of giveaways, they may altogether be cancelled- all depending on the status of the books, as they may have been ruined.
Needless to say, that's the least of problems. Let's just hope that everything turns out fine for Arleigh and her family- that's the main concern. I will keep you posted as best I can within the limits of privacy.
Your thoughts and prayers are welcome.

Oh No! Poor Arleigh! Her family will be in my thoughts today.
ReplyDeleteNot the books NO! I hope everything is okay, that is terrible. If there is ANYTHING I can do, do not hesitate to ask. Maybe we can put together a "book sympathy" package. For her I would give up a good book to bring a smile to her face.
ReplyDeleteI hope it all works out. That is one of my greatest fears because there is nothing you can do. It makes you feel so helpless. My thoughts are also with you and your family!
Oh no! So sorry to hear about this. Wishing the best for Arleigh.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh!!! Poor Arleigh, I had no idea. My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family.
ReplyDeleteUPDATE 1:
ReplyDeleteArleigh just confirmed that she and her family are ok. The water rose ll the way up to the roof, but has finally receded as of today. She's presently in a hotel close to home. Everyone is ok and fortunately they also have flood insurance.
As for her book collection- she's lost stuff but fortunately most of her Plaidys were saved.
I'll keep you posted. Thanks for being there and for the kind words and thoughts for Arleigh:)
OH my goodness. I didn't know she lived on that side of town. The flooding was really bad on the west and northwest side of Atlanta. Sorry to hear that she was affected.
ReplyDeleteIf there is anything we can do to help you during this time, please ask!
ReplyDeleteOh God that is awful! I really hadn't thought much about the flooding!
ReplyDeleteThoughts & prayers are with Arleigh & her family. XxOo
ReplyDeletePrayers are with her and family.

Just got news from Arleigh...
ReplyDeleteThey did a final sweep of the house today. Arleigh lost about 60 or so books but fortunately the Plaidys, which were on a top bookcase were untouched:) Still, the giveaways remain on hold until this whole situation is under control. Arleigh hopes to be moved into a house by this weekend or beginning of next week. If I hear more, I'll let you know. Thank you everyone for your concern and especially for your prayers and thoughts.
